Grilled Spicy Korean Wings

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds chicken wings (good amount for 6 people)

  • olive oil and salt and pepper

  • one bunch of cilantro (chopped)

  • 1-2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves diced

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce or gochujang (I used the chili garlic sauce for this recipe)

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • 1-2 tablespoons corn starch

Directions

  1. Drizzle wings with olive oil and add a pinch of salt and pepper, grill wings

  2. While wings are grilling, in a small saucepan, add sauce ingredients and stir till sugar melts

  3. Keep on low simmer while wings are grilling

  4. Five minutes before wings will be ready, add 1-2 tablespoons of corn starch and stir, the sauce will thicken, add more to make thicker, I used 2 tablespoons for this recipe, I prefer sauce a little runny and not too thick

  5. Remove wings from grill and place in a large bowl, cover with sauce and toss/mix

  6. Add wings to a plate or bowl, you can add on a bed of spring mix, optional, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.

Enjoy. Cut recipe in half if only cooking 2 pounds of wings.
